He first learned to play music on the piano at age 5, which he played until 13 when his love for guitar began. His guitar skills were first born out of learning to play the guitar tablature of Metallica. The seasoning of his ability came mainly through playing reggae for 5 years with his first band, The Elements, as well as performing Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and Neil Young songs solo at open mics.
